Laura, alongside Gerry, looks after all aspects of the Cardiff Capital Region Graduate Scheme. With a background in business engagement, event management and the graduate job market, Laura joined in the CCR in April 2019 and utilised her experience and passion for employability to launch and shape the Graduate Scheme. Prior to joining the CCR, she was an Employer Engagement Officer within the Careers and Employability Service at Cardiff University, overseeing an array of on-campus events, including large scale careers fairs. Laura moved to Wales from Shropshire to study Modern History and Politics at Cardiff University back in 2012, never left and now considers herself an adopted Welsh person! After graduating with a First Class Honours, Laura volunteered with a global health NGO in Zambia and initially started her career managing international policy conferences for an EU events producer.
In her spare time, Laura is an avid bookworm and loves getting arty by sketching and watercolour painting. She also enjoys the theatre, travelling to explore new cultures (and food!) and occasionally volunteering with women’s rights’ organisations such as Welsh Women’s Aid and WOW Festival.
