Porth Teigr comprises a development site of over 15 hectares in central Cardiff. The site is located within Cardiff Bay with direct connections into the city centre and in close proximity to Cardiff Bay amenities, shops and attractions.

Porth Teigr is a large scale mixed use development south of the basin proposing a new sustainable neighbourhood with a particular focus on the creative industries; and the development for leisure purposes of Alexander Head which is contiguous with the east side of the Cardiff Bay Barrage.

Proposed land uses incorporate provision for the creative industries with the Welsh Government’s Centre for the Creative Industries along with live work / small business accommodation to compliment the existing BBC’s 170,000 sq ft Roath Lock Drama Production Studios.

Residential accommodation is proposed providing up to 1000 new homes along with supporting local shops, creche and social facilities. Retail, leisure, and hotel uses including serviced apartments are also proposed.

Full use is to be made of the location which fronts the Roath Basin with a proposed new working waterfront as well as the water area of the Bay with a proposed marina. The mixed use scheme has planning permission for over 1 million sq ft of development and is actively being marketed and developed.
