Cardiff Capital Region (CCR) has welcomed Connected Places Catapult to South East Wales as part of an ongoing partnership to support innovation, strengthen collaboration and drive sustainable economic growth across the region.
The two organisations brought together representatives from across the regional innovation ecosystem for a series of workshops exploring how partners can work more effectively to support business growth and maximise the region’s innovation strengths.
Discussions focused on two key themes: the potential for Innovation Districts to support future economic development, and the practical challenges faced by innovative businesses as they seek to start, scale and remain within the region.
The workshops provided an opportunity for organisations from across the public, private and academic sectors to share experience, identify common priorities and consider where greater collaboration could deliver the greatest impact. Conversations explored how existing regional assets can be better connected, how businesses can access the support they need to grow, and how innovation can contribute to long-term prosperity across South East Wales.
The sessions form part of a wider programme of work between Cardiff Capital Region and Connected Places Catapult, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening the conditions for innovation-led growth. By combining regional knowledge with national expertise, the partnership aims to identify practical opportunities that support businesses, attract investment and create places where innovation can thrive.
