CCR wins ‘Funder of the Year’ category at annual property awards ceremony with CBRE partner.

12 June saw Cardiff Capital Region (CCR) attend the finals of the annual Insider Wales Property Awards 2025 as a finalist in the ‘Funder of the Year’ category, for its Strategic Premises Fund. CCR jointly entered the award with the Fund’s Advising Manager, CBRE and won the award, beating very capable competition in the process.

The event, held at the iconic Coal Exchange in Cardiff Bay, was packed out with property and commercial partners across Wales and beyond. The Chair of CCR, Cllr Mary Ann Brocklesby and Cllr Andrew Morgan, OBE, Portfolio Lead for the Fund, attended and received the award on behalf of CCR.

The Strategic Premises Fund (SPF) is one of CCR’s £50m Impact Funds and through property development loans it targets the delivery of employment space supporting, among others, film studios, hotels, factories, and offices in the Cardiff Capital Region.

CCR’s Chief Executive Kellie Beirne said: “It’s really great to have something so positive to celebrate and which highlights the impactful role we are playing in the market.”
