Cardiff Capital Region (CCR) has unveiled its Regional Economic & Industrial Plan (REIP) for 2023-2028, building on the inaugural plan that has already seen the £1.23BN CCR City Deal deliver substantial investment and achieve significant intervention milestones.
The vision for a c.489 acre green energy park in the Vale of Glamorgan has taken a significant step forward - through Cardiff Capital Region City Deal’s (CCR) completion of purchase of the Aberthaw coal-fired power station that once symbolised fossil-fuel energy production in Wales.
Selected from more than twenty funding bids, the three successful bids have all been awarded a four-month feasibility contract of up to £50,000 per project. At the end of the four months, the projects will be assessed and the most promising will be awarded additional funding to pilot and test prototypes.
Cardiff Capital Region has invested £2M in Jellagen, a unique platform on a journey to revolutionise regenerative medicines and treatments for skin diseases and tissue reconstruction, through the medical development of Collagen Type 0.
A new £50 million collaboration is set to help develop a world-leading hub for innovation across TV, film, and the wider media industry in Wales.
